The voice of research

Hamptons has always a strong relationship with the press, being particularly well known for its property research. Market Insight, a monthly publication sent to journalists and displayed in branches across London and the South East, is one of the main ways that research is shared. It’s more than a collection of data – it helps position Hamptons as a trusted voice on the property market.

Finding the story

Over time, the report had become dated and difficult to navigate. There was plenty of useful data, but it wasn’t always easy to see the story behind the numbers. The redesign put that information front and centre, with a centre-spread data hub bringing key figures together and pull-out facts making statistics easier to scan. Each issue also had a bespoke cover illustration, with the concept and headline developed around that month’s key story.

Designing for production

As a monthly publication, the design also needed to be practical to produce. Some sections were designed to need a designer’s input each month, while others were templated so an artworker could turn them around quickly. This kept the publication visually interesting without creating unnecessary studio time.

A lasting resource

The redesigned Market Insight was well received by clients and the press, giving Hamptons a more engaging way to share its research each month. The templated approach also made it easier to maintain over time, without losing the visual impact of the redesign.
