When we promise the world,
we mean it
John D. Wood & Co
A data-led brief
John D. Wood has been part of the London property scene for over 150 years, but even an established name can get lost in a crowded market. Looking through its client data, the marketing team found a strong USP: a significant number of international buyers.
In a market where international buyers can mean higher-value sales, this was a story worth telling. The challenge was showing that global reach without losing the local relationships at the heart of the brand.
A copy-based solution.
The answer was a line that did double duty: "When we promise the world, we mean it." On one level, it’s a familiar promise of exceptional service. On another, it’s a literal statement about John D. Wood’s international reach – backed up by the data. The double meaning gave the campaign a confident, premium feel while keeping the international story front and centre.
A localised message
The local element was then introduced through a second layer – branch-specific subheadings, like "Whether it's Belgravia, Belgium or Beijing, we have the international reach to find you the perfect buyer."
This meant more artworking across the branch network, but allowed each branch to make the campaign relevant to its own market while keeping the wider message consistent.
